Pfutsero, June 10 (MExN): An awareness-cum-interactive programme on pollution control, with a special focus on the new Solid Waste Management (SWM) Rules, 2026, will be held at Town Hall, Ketoupa, Pfutsero on June 17 from 1:00 pm.
According to a DIPR report, the programme is being organised by the Pfutsero Town Council in collaboration with the Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB).
The programme aims to provide stakeholders with a comprehensive understanding of the new SWM Rules, including compliance requirements, the responsibilities of waste generators and their broader implications for environmental management.
The session will also address key environmental concerns such as ambient air pollution and its impact on public health and the environment.
Additional Deputy Commissioner and Executive Officer, Pfutsero Town Council, Mhalo Humtsoe, has directed all Heads of Departments, town councillors, ward chairmen and gaon buras to attend the programme. Representatives of the Pfutsero Town Mothers' Association, Pfutsero Town Baptist Pastors' Fellowship/Association, Pfutsero Town Youth Organisation and Pfutsero Town Chakhesang Students' Union have also been asked to participate.
In addition, heads of educational institutions have been requested to attend the programme along with five students each from their respective schools.
