Phek, February 10 (MExN): In order to ensure public safety and foster a secure business environment, the Phek Police has constituted an Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) with a dedicated helpline numbers.
This specialised unit will operate specifically within the jurisdiction of the Phek Police station, covering Phek District headquarters and surrounding areas, the Media Cell of Phek Police stated in a press release.
The formation of the AEC comes as part of the department’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy against illegal taxations, threats and harassment by unscrupulous elements.
The Cell is designed to provide a swift, confidential and effective response to any reports of extortions affecting traders, contractors and the public.
