Along with the rest of the country and the state, PM SHRI Government High School (GHS), Wokha Village, participated in the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam (ABSS) 2025 via video conference on July 29.

PM SHRI GHS Wokha Village has been recognised as one of the best PM SHRI Schools in Nagaland, alongside nine other institutions—one selected from each district. The school’s selection underlines its consistent commitment towards achieving the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The programme was attended by several dignitaries, including Echungbemo Erui, SDO (Civil) Wokha, K. Vandan Erui, Chairman, Wokha Village Council, K Chandemo Patton, ADC Samagra Shiksha; EBRC officials; and Trainers of Trainers (ToTs).

The PM SHRI initiative aims to transform over 14,500 schools across India into exemplar institutions aligned with the vision of NEP 2020. In celebration of the 5th anniversary of NEP 2020, the Ministry of Education organised the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurated the national event and highlighted key features of NEP 2020, which rests on five core pillars: Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability, and Accountability. He emphasised that NEP 2020 strives to create an equal, inclusive and pluralistic society, in line with the vision of the Indian Constitution, aiming to nurture active, productive and contributing citizens.

Over the past few years, NEP 2020 has significantly reshaped India’s educational landscape. Notable milestones include Ladakh becoming the first fully literate administrative unit, followed by Mizoram, Goa and Tripura. The Minister also outlined the roadmap for the next phase of transformation, which includes enhancing industry-academia collaboration, refining vocational education pathways, establishing Centres of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence for teaching and learning, and integrating sustainability into curricula.

The Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2025 serves as a platform for academicians, policymakers, educators, industry leaders, and government officials to reflect on the progress made under NEP 2020 and chart the course forward. The event reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to equity, excellence and innovation in education.

At PM SHRI GHS Wokha Village, the video conference was successfully conducted, and the programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Loreni Ngullie, Assistant Headmistress.
