Power cuts in Kohima division for line maintenance

KOHIMA, MARCH 28 (MExN): The Nagaland Department of Power has announced a scheduled vegetation clearance and maintenance program for 66kV and 132kV transmission lines under the Kohima Transmission Division, which will take place from April 1 to May 2.

To facilitate the maintenance work and prevent power disruptions, there will be daily power shutdowns in certain areas from 8 am to 3 pm. The department has urged consumers to cooperate and bear with the temporary inconvenience.

The scheduled outages will begin on April 1 and 2, affecting the 132kV Doyang-Sanis feeder, which will result in blackouts in Sanis, Bhandari, Baghty, and Merapani. From April 15 to 19, maintenance work on the 66kV Kiphire-Tuensang feeder will lead to power outages in Kiphire, Meluri, parts of Phek district, and the LHEP area. Further shutdowns are planned from April 21 to 23 for the 132kV Kiphire-Meluri feeder, impacting Meluri and parts of Phek district.

The power department has requested the cooperation of residents and consumers in the affected areas to ensure a smooth execution of the maintenance work and the continued stability of power supply in the region.
