Power shutdown rescheduled for Kohima transmission line work

KOHIMA, APRIL 12 (MExN): The Kohima Transmission Division has issued a revised schedule for the vegetation clearance and maintenance of 66kV and 132kV transmission lines, previously announced on March 28, 2025.

According to the updated schedule, the maintenance activity—originally slated from April 15 to 19—has now been rescheduled to take place from April 25 to 30, 2025. The decision to revise the dates was made to ensure minimal disruption and to facilitate the smooth execution of essential transmission line maintenance.

As part of this operation, a total power shutdown will be enforced daily from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the affected areas during the maintenance period. The feeder impacted is the 66kV Kiphire–Tuensang line, and the shutdown will affect Kiphire, Meluri, parts of Phek district, and the Lower Hydel Electric Project (LHEP).

The department has requested all consumers and the general public in the affected regions to bear with the inconvenience and extend their cooperation for the successful completion of this critical maintenance work.
