Kohima, October 4 (MExN): The Department of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) organized an exposure visit cum study tour for the progressive fish farmers of the State to Tripura from September 24 to 29.
The objective of the tour was to sensitize the State fish farmers on the recent trends and technological advances made in the field of aquaculture and fisheries, informed a press release issued by Department of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, Kohima.
The team led by Khriezhato Nakhro and co-team leader Kughato Rochill visited various Government Institutions and private farms in and around Agartala during their visit including the College of Fisheries, Agartala, Government Prawn hatchery and Ornamental breeding Unit, M/s Gouree Kamala breeding farm and Hatchery and M/s Rangamai fish Farm.
Along with classroom knowledge, practical demonstrations and hands on training were also imparted to the fish farmers on fish feed making, fish breeding, integrated fish culture, value added products and composite fish culture management practices.
