A robust batting by Mangal Mehrur 129(171) and MD Rahmatullah 55(56) today ensured that Bihar consolidated their position against Nagaland on Day-2 of the Plate Group Ranji Trophy encounter at Moin-ul-Haq Stadium, Patna on December 23.
At stumps on Day 2, Bihar were 255/3 and leading by 196 runs.
Unlike the first innings, Bihar’s batsmen were more restrained and display control over the match.
Losing their first wicket at 55 runs, Bihar’s batsmen constantly stretched the bowling side as the next wicket came at 146. They hold steady throughout with third wickets coming at 203 runs.
Rachit Bhatia took two wickets for Nagaland while Abrar Kazi scalped one.
Earlier, resuming their overnight score of 101/4, Nagaland put a total of 209 runs, leading the first innings by 59 runs.
However, Nagaland could not repeat their previous innings feats in the bowling when they restricted Bihar to 150 runs.
