DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 7 (MExN): In the ongoing Ranji trophy match of the Palate Group-D underway at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima, between Nagaland and Manipur, Nagaland were 150 for the loss of 4 wickets at the close of play on Day-2 in the second innings.
Nagaland scored only 126 runs in the first innings. Manipur, who were 173 for 3on Day-1 were all out for 336 in the first innings. Mayank Raghav scored 228 runs for Manipur in the 1st innigs.
Young Nagaland off-spinner, Tahmeed Rahman, who is the youngest from the Northeast to play first class match for the season 2018-19, created history by being the first player from Nagaland to take a hat-trick in Ranji trophy in the plate group D teams of Nagaland, Mizoram, Sikkim, Pudducherry, Bihar, Uttarkhand, Arunachal, Meghalaya and Manipur who are all playing First class cricket from this season.
He took the wickets of Manipur players Homendro, William and Kishan in the three consecutive balls. Tahmeed finished the first innings by taking 5 wickets for 108 runs.
