Regimental School DEF Wokha emerged as the champion of the first-ever U-14 Inter School Sepak Takraw competition organised by ANPSA Wokha Unit, in collaboration with Department of Youth Resources & Sports.

WOKHA, SEPTEMBER 24 (MExN): The All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA), Wokha Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland, organised the first-ever U-14 Inter School Sepak Takraw competition.
Regimental School DEF Wokha emerged as the champion, securing the title in both the boys’ and girls’ categories by defeating Cistus School Wokha in the finals.
The tournament commenced with a short program led by Phyochobeni Khuvung, Treasurer of ANPSA Wokha Unit. The event began with a prayer by Mhaden Jungio, followed by a keynote address from T Zuchanthung Lotha, Vice President of the Wokha District Sepak Takraw Association.
In his speech, Lotha encouraged participants to take the sport seriously, highlighting the significant potential for Nagas to excel in Sepak Takraw at national and international levels. He emphasized that the natural agility and quick learning ability of Naga athletes are great assets for the sport.
The address was followed by an oath-taking ceremony administered by James Ezung. K Edward Ngullie, President of ANPSA Wokha Unit, concluded the opening program with a vote of thanks.
T Zuchanthung Lotha presided over the prize distribution ceremony, presenting awards to the champions and the runner-up teams.
