Kohima, August 22 (MExN): A regional health team led by Dr Jenny Ningombam, Regional Director, Regional Office of Health and Family Welfare (RoHFW), Imphal, visited Kohima district from August 18 to 22 to review the implementation of various national health programmes.
The team, comprising Dr Khansem Tallanao, Medical Officer, and Mahipal Meena, Lab Assistant-II, reviewed the implementation of the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), Universal Immunization Programme (UIP) and National Oral Health Programme (NOHP).
During the visit, the team interacted with district health authorities and programme officials and reviewed various components, including surveillance, service delivery, reporting mechanisms, laboratory services, case detection and management and other programme activities.
The team also visited selected health facilities and field sites to assess implementation of the programmes at the grassroots level.
Ningombam emphasised the need to strengthen surveillance, ensure quality health services, maintain timely reporting and effective monitoring, and address identified gaps to improve health outcomes in the district.
The regional team appreciated the efforts of district health authorities and frontline health workers and encouraged them to maintain their commitment towards achieving the objectives of the various national health programmes.
