Kohima, February 25 (MExN): Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Kohima along with District Health Society, Department of Health & Family Welfare, NHM conducted Reproductive Child Health (RCH) camp at Ziezou PHC on February 23.
Dr Leamnyei Konyak (CMO) in his speech said to the gathering to avail all the services and also part take in various group discussions for a healthy life style and to practice for better health seeking behavior, stated a press release from his office. Furthermore Dr Konyak, reminded the people of the responsibilities of each and everyone in bringing about health awareness, to uplift the health of the society in general and for contribution of each individual in particular. He also mentioned about the target group where children and pregnant mothers were given priority. At the community level, the CMO stressed on the role of the VHC should take for Village Health & Nutrition Day (VHND) and to channelize for visit of medical officers to the village regularly.
During the health camp, a total of 78 inhabitants turned up to avail health services at the PHC, the CMO reported. General OPD – 31, Paediatrics – 17, Gynae section – 29, screening of Ante Natal Care (ANC) to 3 pregnant mothers. PW screened for HIV & Syphilis (non-reactive) – 3 each, PW screened for HB – 3, OCP distributed – 5 cycles & condoms – 15 pieces Malaria slides - 28, Immunization – 2, NCD screening – 41, HTN – 8 (follow up) 2 new cases, Diabetes – 3 (follow up), Lab test – 45 & minor OT – 1 were provided with free medicines & distribution of IEC materials. Under the leadership of CMO, Kohima & all Program Officers, DPMU, Ziezou PHC staff, MO & team from Botsa PHC, Paediatrician from Chiephobozou CHC & Gynaecologist from Viswema CHC conducted the health camp successfully, it said.
