KOHIMA, APRIL 12 (MExN): The Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN), along with the members of the Nagaland Net Qualified Forum (NNQF), has called for the immediate revocation of the notification dated December 17, 2024 for regularization of backdoor appointees for the posts of Assistant Professors and Librarians in the state. The controversial order was followed by a notification on December 18, 2024, where 147 individuals were absorbed into the government’s payroll as Assistant Professors and Librarians. The CTAN and NNQF have pointed to a memorandum issued by the Personnel and Administrative Reforms (P&AR) Department on June 6, 2016, which placed a ban on contract appointments. It therefore demanded the immediate cancellation of the December 2024 order, stating that the appointments made after June 6, 2016, should be terminated as they go against the established guidelines. It cautioned of protests outside the Directorate of Higher Education starting on April 16 if their demand is not met.
