With the advent of education in India and the world, many ambitious men and women wish to reach the top as leaders. Such people are found in politics, business, industry, religious organizations, cultural groups etc. Some have confidence upon them, some are steered to top by favorable circumstances, but only few reach it by their own efforts.
A real leader is one who has the ability to recognize a problem. Courage, endurance, fearless and self sacrifice and other qualities are required of him/ her.Any one can be a leader if he/ she could understand the job, create the scope for progress and keep himself/ herself alert to the changing situation. S/he has to play a major role in shaping the goal, structure and common activities of his/ her group.
The captain of a military unit should have the order of the day to be carried out. The official of the firm has to work with foresight, displaying superior talents. So also the leaders of political, social and cultural organizations. They have to provide their followers with concrete guidelines of what should be doe.
To be a successful leader one should think on logical lines, express well, show readiness to face difficulties, do things in a cheerful frame of mind and win over one’s critics.
Five things are perquisite to be a good leader-Ability, clean hand, speed, patience and impartiality. A good person is free, though a slave on the flip side, evil men is a slave, though he be a King or leader. Once leadership is shuttered, even the most generous idea collapses.
If a leader wishes to prosper in life, one must give up gambling, prodigality, excess sleep, drowsiness, fear, anger, indolence and procrastination. A leader should preserve till he accomplishes his goal. Good leaders are noticed even from afar, while bad ones are not even at an arrow shot distance.
A good leader should not ask, “What my country can do for me?”, rather “What I can do for my country? What can we do together for the freedom of the nation?” If leaders want peace of mind, they should not find fault with others, rather see their own faults. Learn to make the whole world of their own, no one is stranger. A leader can never be a true leader in manner until the are true leaders at hearts. Leaders who have nothing wrong probably have not done anything good orb right.
Four things belong to a good leader- to hear courteously, to answer wisely, to consider soberly and to decide impartially. Leaders who think himself or herself as wise may fall victim to very “vice” person. Leaders! Never look for opportunities but create them well. A best leader desires to make the people happy and know how to make them happy. Tree further qualities are required of a truly great leader- man or woman’s brain, woman’s heart and child’s temper. Good leader is one who thinks twice before saying anything.
A leader must know, must know that he or she knows and must be able to make it abundantly clear to what he or she knows. Leaders are ruined by meddling with that which is not his business. Most of the problems in the world are caused by people wanting to be leaders. Good leaders take a little more than his or her share of blame; a little less than his or her share of the credit.
Leaders should not take alcohol inebriated state or drug because it provoke desire but takes away performance. It is not for leaders to drink wine/ drug lest they drink and forget what the law decrees and deprive all the oppressed of their right. ( Proverb 31: 4-5).
