Saku Aier on CM’s Bungalow fire incident

Kohima, March 26 (DIPR): Replying to a starred question raised by MLA Y. Hewoto Awomi on detailed fact of fire incident of the Chief Minster’s Bungalow on February 8 to Parliamentary Secretary for Housing T. Saku Aier, he replied that the initial report indicate that the cause of fire was electrical short circuit and also informed the house that the Government has already set up a committee of senior officials to enquire the details of the fire
incident.
He informed the house that property worth ` 25,74,212 was burnt but however reported that no important official document was burnt. On the enquiry about the yearly allowance or maintenance of the Chief Minister Bungalow by the MLA, he replied that there is no specific yearly allocation for maintenance but year-wise expenditure is carried out by the PWD Housing department as per requirement.
He also informed the August gathering that the consideration of the new building was started on February 17 by Works & Housing department and replied that the State Government is not seeking for any donation or charity from NGO, businessmen, legislature or well wisher.
