Newly elected office bearers of the SCCSU during the oath-taking ceremony in Tuensang on August 12.
Tuensang, August 12 (MExN): The Sao Chang College Students’ Union election, conducted from August 3 to August 12, concluded on Wednesday with the formal oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers.
The ceremony was chaired by Assistant Professor Bachu, who introduced the incoming executive council. Speaking on the occasion, College Principal Dr. Lanurenla congratulated the newly elected leaders and urged them to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity, uphold institutional regulations, and rise above tribalism to foster unity across the student body.
During the event, Assistant Professor Serila L. Sangtam presented certificates of recognition to the outgoing office bearers for their service to the college. Outgoing council representative Nchambeni delivered the farewell address, while newly elected General Secretary Samgmailenla L. spoke on behalf of the incoming student council, outlining their commitment to student welfare.
The oath of office was administered by Assistant Professor K. Chongliu, formally inducting the new executive body into service.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Mhasiriekho Ziekhru, marking a smooth leadership transition for the college union.
