Dimapur, March 9 (MExN): A one-day training programme under the Seed the Future Entrepreneur Programme was held at Government Higher Secondary School, Purana Bazaar, Dimapur, to promote innovation and entrepreneurial thinking among school students in solving local problems through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) and the use of Atal Tinkering Labs and skill labs.

The initiative is initiated and funded by La Fondation Dassault Systèmes across the country. In Nagaland, it is implemented by Samagra Shiksha Nagaland under the Department of School Education with technical support from Lend A Hand India.

The programme is being implemented in six schools in Nagaland—three government and three private schools—with each school nominating six students from Classes VIII, IX and X to participate.

A press release from the organisers informed that the national-level programme includes 216 schools across the country. Out of these, 30 schools from Maharashtra and six schools from Nagaland are directly supported by Lend A Hand India, where students will develop innovative prototypes and compete at the national level.

The product ideas under the programme focus on themes such as agriculture, local artisans, and safety and security, encouraging students to develop solutions that address real community challenges.

The programme began with an address by the Principal of Government Higher Secondary School, Purana Bazaar, Pipi Gloria Chishi, who encouraged students to use their ideas to benefit society and appreciated the structured support provided under the initiative.

Resource persons Shreyas Bhagwat and Arundhati Jadhav from La Fondation Dassault Systèmes and Lend A Hand India respectively conducted sessions on 3-D product design and developing final product concepts. The sessions guided students in transforming their ideas into innovative prototypes through a design thinking approach and preparing them to submit final products in the next stages of the competition.
