Seri-Tourism Model Farming Centre at Pfutsero and Medziphema were inaugurated on April 11.
Dimapur, April 12 (MExN): The Advisor, Sericulture & Minority Affairs Imkongmar, inaugurated Seri-Tourism Model Farming Centre at Pfutsero and Medziphema on April 11.
A press release received here stated that the department initiated this innovative programme with the aim to disseminate knowledge about art of silk making among the local populace.
“This centre will attract outside state tourists who are silk enthusiast. The school and college students will have an exposure visit to this centre to learn about silk for self-employment in their future career,” the release stated. The department will conduct different technical skill training programme for the rural people to uplift the livelihood economy, it added.
During the launch, Advisor Imkongmar encouraged the public to make best use of this centre to learn various activities involves in silk production.
