Seven students from CoVSc & AH Jalukie attends foreign training

Seven students from College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Central Agricultural University (I), Jalukie attended foreign training for one month.

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 21 (MExN): Seven students from the College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Central Agricultural University (I), Jalukie, Nagaland attended foreign training for one month. 

The training was sponsored by the Institutional Development Plan-National Agricultural Higher Education Project (IDP-NAHEP), funded by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, through the World Bank. 

In first the batch, three intern students namely Dipanwita Ghosh (Tripura), Martina Chewang and Reshma Khuleibam (Manipur) attended foreign training at International Training Center on Pig Husbandry, Lipa city, Philippines from February 25 to March 24, 2023.

In the second batch, 4th year BVSc & AH degree students namely Prena Gajmer (Sikkim) and Jeeni Uli (Arunachal Pradesh) attended International Training Center on Pig Husbandry, Lipa city, Philippines from September 7 to October 10, 2023, whereas Ruth Newmai (from Nagaland) and Ibashisha Lyngdoh (Meghalaya) attended Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Vietnam National Agriculture University, Hanoi, Vietnam from September 3 to October 10, 2023 for one month.

During the training, the students learned and experienced modern pig husbandry practices, bio-security measures, and disease diagnostics, epidemiological studies, health care management, etc, a press release stated. 

Dr I Shakuntala, Dean, CoVS c& AH, Jalukie, Nagaland, expressed her gratitude to Principal Investigator, IDP-NAHEP Dr Soibam Basanta Singh, Director of Instruction, CAU, Imphal, for providing opportunity to the students to get exposure in international institutes. Further, she expressed her gratitude to Dr Anupam Mishra, Honourable Vice-Chancellor of CAU, for his encouragement and support.
