CHÜMOUKEDIMA, FEBRUARY 26 (MExN): The 27th Annual Games and Sports Meet of St Joseph Higher Secondary School (SJHSS), Chümoukedima, officially began with Seyievilie Pfukri, EAC Chümoukedima, as the special guest.

During his address, Pfukri, an alumnus of a Catholic institution, expressed his enthusiasm for attending the event, which marked one of his first engagements as a special guest. He highlighted the importance of sports beyond just competition and physical fitness, emphasizing its role in building character, discipline, and resilience.

Pfukri shared his belief that discipline is a key quality for success, not only in sports but in all aspects of life. He encouraged the students to embrace discipline, noting that although it may not yield instant results, it ultimately contributes to long-term success. He also cautioned that a lack of discipline could lead to hardships in the future.

The EAC underscored the value of teamwork in sports, urging students to cherish their relationships with peers and teachers as these bonds are crucial to success.

Rev Fr Anthony R Dukru, Principal of SJHSS, delivered the welcome address and announced the results of the March Pass competition, which was won by the Green House. The Aerobic Display, performed by students from classes 5, 6, and 7, was won by the Yellow House.

The program was chaired by Sedelo and Medovono, with Rev Fr Marcus Yanthan, Vice-Principal, invoking God’s blessings at the start. The event also featured a colorful aerobic display and a vibrant March Pass by the four houses.

The event concluded with a note of gratitude from Sr Delphine Fernandas, Headmistress of SJHSS.
