Social audit reviews IRCA, PM-AJAY schemes in Mokokchung & Tuensang

Kohima, June 3 (MExN): The Social Audit State Level Social Justice Assembly under Department of Social Justice & Empowerment (DoSJE) for the districts of Mokokchung and Tuensang implemented during Financial Year 2019-2020 to 2022-23 was convened at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Social Welfare, Kohima on June 4.

According to a press release, altogether two schemes were audited under DoSJE namely IRCA and PM AJAY covering five institutions viz- Good Will Society, Tuensang under Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Addicts (IRCA) and construction of hostels for SC girl students under PM-AJAY Scheme viz hostel at Tuli Higher Secondary School, hostel at Tsurangkong, Hostel at Mangkolemba and hostel at Sao Chang College in Mokokchung and Tuensang districts.

The State Level Assembly was convened with an objective to review the process, coverage, issues and action taken status on the findings of social audit, it stated. 

Bodeno S Colo, Secretary, Social Welfare Department addressed and chaired the Assembly while Imtitoshi I Jamir, Director, NSSAA, Social Audit Unit gave the introductory speech.

Ningsanglemba Lomou (DRP) and Kenesü Sopfu (BRP), Social Audit Unit Nagaland highlighted the social audit findings. Key areas including timely submission of Action Taken Reports (ATRs) and documents, ongoing projects, provision of basic amenities to the institutions, institutional functioning and others were discussed, culminating in the adoption of resolutions to implement corrective actions. 

The panel members in attendance were Sangmai C Imlong, Additional Secretary, Rural Development Department; Vikhweno Chale Additional Secretary, School Education Department; Andrew C Imti, Joint Director, Minority Affairs; T Zubemo Ovung, Deputy Secretary, Home Department and Kiniholi Kinimi, Deputy Director, Urban Development Department.

Officials from the Higher &Technical Education Department headed by the Joint Secretary & Ex-Officio Director Lovitoly Sema (NCS); officials from Social Welfare Department headed by Tosheli Zhimomi, Director & Member Secretary, SLSJA; representatives from Goodwill Society, Tuensang and stake holders of all the institutions participated in the Social Justice Assembly.
