Social Welfare dept bids farewell to Martha R Ritse

KOHIMA, APRIL 2 (MExN): A farewell programme in honour of the retiring and outgoing Commissioner and Secretary, Social Welfare, Martha R. Ritse was organised by the Department of Social Welfare on April 1 at Hotel Japfü, Kohima.

During the programme, Olemjungla, Joint Secretary, Social WelfareDepartment shared a brief profile of Ritse’s career as an NCS officer, which began in 1991 and over the years serving in various capacities in the District Administration, ARC, Shillong and in various other departments, such as Rural Development, Health and Family Welfare, Tourism and Land Resources. Ritse was inducted in the IAS Nagaland Cadre in 2002, and retired on March 31, 2025.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA and Advisor, Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak congratulated Ritse and thanked her for her dedicated services to the Government of Nagaland till superannuation. 

Short speeches were delivered by Alun Hangsing, Chairperson, Nagaland State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, W. Nginyeih Konyak, Chairperson, Nagaland State Commission for Women, Tosheli Zhimomi, Director, Social Welfare, and Bodeno S Colo, Secretary, Social Welfare.

Martha R. Ritse, in her farewell speech thanked all the department officials and staff for their cooperation, support and encouragement over the years, and urged them to continue giving their dedicated services to reach out to the grassroots.

Special songs were presented by officials of the Directorate of Social Welfare and the Male voice choir. Angela Sophie, Deputy Secretary, Social Welfare pronounced the prayer of blessings. The program was chaired by Yongchingkumla, Additional Secretary, Social Welfare.
