Wokha, February 4 (MExN): The Office of the District Economics and Statistics Officer and the District Registrar of Births and Deaths, Wokha, has announced a special drive for online registration and digitisation of old manual birth and death certificates across all registration units in the district.
The drive will be conducted from February 5 to February 20. All village registrars have been instructed to ensure effective implementation of the initiative in their respective jurisdictions.
The drive aims to modernise record-keeping, improve accessibility and strengthen the reliability of vital statistics. Registrars have been directed to complete the online registration and digitisation of all old manual birth and death certificates and submit daily progress reports to Field Investigator Lothungbeni Humtsoe through mobile number 8256982892.
The district office has urged all registrars to take necessary steps to ensure the success of the drive, stating that the initiative is being undertaken in the larger public interest.
Kohima: Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Kohima B Henok Buchem on February 4 issued a directive informing the public of Kohima district that a Special Drive for the online registration and digitization of old manual Birth and Death certificates will be conducted from February 5 to February 20.
According to an update by the DC, the drive will be carried out at the District Economics and Statistics Office, Kohima and respective registration units.
All citizens holding old manual Birth or Death certificates are encouraged to visit the District Economics and Statistics Office, Kohima, or their nearest Registration Unit within the specified dates to ensure their records are digitized.
