DIMAPUR, JULY 2 (MExN): The annual inter-department basketball tournament, St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama, organized by the department of English, concluded on June 30. The tournament lasted 3 days with 9 men’s teams and seven women’s team participating.
At the conclusion of the tournament, BBA Department emerged as the champions beating the department of Political Science 52 to 47 points on the scoreboard while the third place was secured by the Commerce department in the Men’s category. In the Women’s category, Economics department defeated the Political Science in the finals with 17 to 10 points, while English department secured the third place.
The MVP award went to Kelhoukhrielie of BBA department while the Highest Scorer was secured by Nukshizulu Pongen of Commerce department in the Men’s category. In the Women’s category, the MVP award went to Makrami of Political science department and Kevikieno Yakhro of Economics department secured the Highest Scorer award.
James H.K, HoD of the organizing department thanked and congratulated the various teams and individual players before doing the honour of giving away the cash prizes and certificates to the winners. It was organized at the college campus Basketball court.
