SUMMER CHALLENGER CUP 2018: Fury FC, Matador FC set for final clash

Dimapur, August 2 (MExN): Fury FC and Matador FC today entered the final of the ongoing Summer Challenger Cup 2018 in different styles with the latter scoring an emphatic win while the former scalping the victory on extra time. The first semi final match, at the local ground Medziphema, saw close encounter between Fury FC and Ngwalna FC. With neither managing to convert any goals till full time, the match went to into extra time. A breakthrough by Fury FC’s Lalminthang at the 92nd minute proved crucial as it turn out to be the winning goal of the match. The brilliant header from Fury jersey number 16 took his team into the into the final. The second semifinal match saw Matador FC locking horns with Falcon United FC where the former scored emphatic win 5-2 to enter the final. Leading from the front, Matador FC captain Khriese Terhüja (jersey number 7) struck twice in the match – the first goal in the 35th minute and the fourth goal in the 68th minute. Kekoselie (jersey number 8), Vikholie (jersey number 17) and Visalie (jersey number 10) scored the other goals for Metador FC in the 46th, 57th and 74th minutes respectively. The two goals for Falcon FC came from the boots of Mangal and Nourhelhoulie (jersey numbers 19 and 21) in the 69th and 90th minutes of the match respectively. The semi-final matches were graced by Neikhonyü M. Kuotsu, Chairman, Medziphema Village Council as the match patron. The final match will kick off right after the closing function which will be held at 2PM on August 3, where Roko Angami, President, Nagaland Football Coaches Association and Naga Boys Club will be the guest of honour.
