Mon, August 4 (MExN): A Special Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) awareness programme on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls, 2026 was held at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall in Mon on August 4.
Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Wennyei Konyak attended the programme as the special guest.
Addressing the gathering, Konyak said the SVEEP campaign aims to ensure clean and accurate electoral rolls. He urged citizens to make use of the awareness programme and educate their families and friends on the importance of maintaining healthy electoral rolls.
He also encouraged people to participate responsibly in the revision process to help ensure free and fair elections in the future.
Assistant Election Officer Lungkube gave an overview of the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls and administered the voters' pledge.
Additional Deputy Commissioner and SVEEP Nodal Officer PaKon Phom, in his welcome address, said accurate and updated electoral rolls are essential for conducting free and fair elections.
The programme was chaired by Samuel Konyak, LDA, Deputy Commissioner's Office, Mon.
A special presentation was delivered by Keiom from the Social Welfare Department, Mon, while Winsha Konyak, Head Assistant (Senior), Assistant Election Officer's Office, proposed the vote of thanks.
SVEEP pamphlets were distributed during the programme.
The awareness campaign was organised to educate citizens on the significance of the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls and encourage greater public participation in the electoral process.
