KOHIMA, JUNE 18 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima has issued a traffic advisory ahead of a rally to be organised by the Tribal Women Bodies of Kohima on June 19, warning of traffic congestion and diversions across the town.
According to the advisory, the rally will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Old MLA Hostel (Phoolbari) Junction, after which participants will proceed in a procession to Lok Bhavan in connection with the ongoing IDAN sexual harassment case.
In view of the expected traffic disruptions, the district administration has advised the public to avoid non-essential travel within Kohima town during the specified period.
Commuters who must travel have been urged to avoid the procession route leading to Lok Bhavan and instead use available bypasses or alternate arterial roads.
The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to the general public to extend full cooperation to the district authorities to ensure public safety, minimise inconvenience, and maintain smooth traffic flow during the event.
