KOHIMA, JUNE 18 (MExN): A two-day training and orientation programme on the Social Audit of VB-GRAM-G for Social Audit Resource Persons of the Nagaland State Social Audit Agency (NSSAA), Social Audit Unit (SAU), concluded after being held from June 16 to 17 at the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) Conference Hall, Kohima.
According to a press release, the programme was spearheaded by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) and the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), Hyderabad. It aimed to build the capacity of Social Audit Resource Persons at the district and block levels as the social audit process transitions from the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) to VB-GRAM-G.
The training focused on strengthening participants' understanding of the VB-GRAM-G framework and social audit methodology to promote transparency and community oversight under the programme.
Altogether, 49 participants from districts across Nagaland attended the training.
The resource persons included Dr Srinivas Sajja from the Centre for Social Audit, NIRDPR, Hyderabad; Resource Persons from DRD Nagaland Leeom Watlong Yanlem, RDO; Menote-u Sarah, RDO; and Munuho Lohe, RDO. Resource persons from NSSAA, SAU Nagaland included Assistant Director Imlirenla Sanglir, Senior Resource Person Sezolu Swuro, and District Resource Person Vezokholu Khusoh.
