In another road mishap, Dimapur witnessed a multi-vehicle pileup on June 5 resulting in the wounding of two persons. The incident occurred around 8:30 am on the Burma Camp stretch of NH 29, not far from the traffic intersection.
According to eye witness accounts, the truck hit an oncoming car resulting in the pileup. The truck reportedly swerved sharply to the opposite lane ramming the oncoming car, shoved it off to the side and hit another car parked on the roadside.
One motorbike following behind the car went under the front of the truck. Unfortunately, the rider jumped off. A scooty met a similar fate. The riders of the two two-wheelers escaped with injury.
The driver of the truck reportedly absconded from the scene.
