Tuensang youth festival goes ‘Back to the Nature’

The District Sports Office, in collaboration with the District Administration and Chang Wedoshi Setshang (CWS), organised a youth festival at town hall, Tuensang town on September 25 last. The event was graced by the presence of Thungchanbemo Tungoe, ADC Tuensang, as the special guest.

As part of the celebration, a series of competitions were held, including Photography on the theme “Back to the Nature,” folksong (solo and group), folk dance (solo and group), and millet dish making. 

Participants from Sao Chang Government College (SCC), Government Higher Secondary School Tuensang (GHSS, Tuensang), Government Higher Secondary School Thangjam (GHSS, Thangjam), Baptist Thangyen Higher Secondary School Tuensang (BTHSS), and Tuensang Village Students’ Union (TVSU) took part in the competitions.

In the photography competition, TVSU secured the first position, while SCC and GHSS, Thangjam, secured the second and third positions, respectively. TVSU also emerged as the winner in the Group Folk Dance category, with GHSS Tuensang and SCC securing the second and third positions, respectively. GHSS, Tuensang, won the Solo Folk Dance category, with GHSS, Thangjam, securing the second position. In the Group Folk Song category, GHSS, Tuensang, secured the first position, while GHSS, Thangjam, and SCC secured the second and third positions, respectively. GHSS, Tuensang, also took the first position in the Solo Folk Song category, with SCC and GHSS, Thangjam, securing the second and third positions, respectively. GHSS, Tuensang, emerged as the winner in the Millet Dish competition, with GHSS, Thangjam, and BTHSS securing the second and third positions, respectively.

The programme was chaired by Langasomba, Vice President of CWS, and the invocation prayer was pronounced by MoshaLashem, Associate Youth Pastor of Tuensang Town Baptist Church. C Pongsu, President of CWS, delivered the highlight of the event, and the benediction prayer was pronounced by Ronglikhum Sangtam, Associate Youth Pastor of Sangtam Baptist Lithro, Tuensang Town.
