Kiphire, December 12 (MExN): A week-long Under-19 Cricket coaching camp, organised by the Kiphire District Cricket Association (KDCA) under the aegis of the Nagaland Cricket Association, is scheduled to conclude today, after commencing on December 8.
The camp aims to train young talents, strengthen their basics, and build strong discipline among upcoming players in the district.
Justin Khatomong T, President of the Kiphire District Cricket Association, said that the association is giving its best to uplift young cricketers of the district in every possible way. Khatomong urged the players to make full use of the opportunities provided. Despite limited infrastructure and facilities, he appreciated the determination of the players who continue to participate wholeheartedly and push their limits. He added that the Association will keep working to raise cricket in Kiphire to a higher level.
During the ongoing sessions, Longtili C Sangtam, Official Umpire of the Kiphire District Cricket Association, encouraged the young players to uphold discipline as a foundation for achieving their dreams. He reminded them that discipline shapes character, helps them handle pressure on the field, and allows each player to grow into an expert in their respective roles.
The camp also focuses on teamwork, physical fitness, and mental strength, offering young players a wholesome sports experience. Daily training sessions, drills, and interactive learning have helped build confidence and inspire a spirit of sportsmanship.
With the camp concluding today, the initiative is expected to greatly benefit the budding cricketers of Kiphire and encourage more youths to take up the sport in the future.
