The United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP) organised thanksgiving programme to celebrate the newly established Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA), at Public Ground, Kiphire on February 17. Community leaders, civil society organisations, representatives of various organisations, and hundreds of public, attended the programme.
Speaking at the programme, L Horangse Sangtam, Vice President, Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) said, “FNTA became a reality because of the grace of God and the unwavering support and cooperation from grassroots since day one of the movement.”
“FNTA will be run by interim body for one year with 13 members, following which election will take place for 40 seats. FNTA will have Legislative, Executive, and Financial autonomy,” Sangtam informed.
He expressed appreciation and gratitude to present and past ENPO leaders for relentlessly pursuing the demand and making FNTA a reality.
Religious leaders led special prayer seeking peace, progress and good governance.
During the programme, President, USLP, President USSC, Vice President, ENSF, President KDGBSA, President, AST, president, USGOU, and former Legislators also spoke during the thanksgiving programme.
