According to a report in the STATEMENT paper in Calcutta 20th April 1956 Government of India provided that 40 millions Rupees budget to deal Nagaland situation during 1956- 1958 budget for operation in Naga Hills and admitted 80 millions worth of properties were damage, besides lost of hundred thousand of human life.
In the darkest hour in our history of blood bath then Nagaland state was born but not as a gift from India. It was found that it was mistake of Nagaland political commitment; thereby Dr. Imkongliba, President of NPC was assassinated. After a year B. K. Nehru, Governor gave remark that given a state to Naga People is mistake because people aspiration was not fulfilled.
The leader of India knew that the entire North East India will be lost if they don’t give them state like Nagaland thereby 5 other states was given. And they benefited without shedding the blood. Nagaland is the first full-fledged state in North East India State beside Assam. It is now good as 50 years but is lagging behind of all other state as far as development concern. We are all aware the latest HLSC result a month back 25 Government High School Produce-1262 passed and 11 schools nil where as Private School could produce 16,690 passed. You can observe the qualification of the two entities and salaries to whom do you considered more dedicated. If we go and point the finger to all the department perhaps no department is doing even better. We have 5% of the Government employed daily average wages come Rs. 1500/- whereas villagers toiling the ground and sweating the whole day can get only Rs. 150/- per day, where is justice then? PDS getting from central government but only people who have money they can effort to purchase the quota BPL never rich to the deserving people. . It clearly proved that most of the civil servants are not faithful to the government even more to our Almighty God.

According to the Sikkim Chief Minister report within 15 years of time they could provide 60% of toilet facility in the village. If we go to village and rural areas, what do we see? Not speak of village sanitation but school buildings look like cowshed and most of the Government demonstration Institute have became non-functional. Many people are living in a condition of hand to mouth. But they are happy because no body informs them about their ignorance.
You will agree with me that the village communities are surviving with meager Village Development Board funds and NREGS central government assistance. It is only source and channel which people participate in the village development activity.
For example 39 National Highway was constructed by British for their interest of World War II, but for last 70 years no improvement except maintenance work only, hundred of Engineer have come and gone but not able to solve the problem even 50 meters landslides at Lalmati 2 kilometers away from capital city at Kohima and thus thousand of vehicles stranded daily. 4 lanes road Dimapur to Kohima and railway broad gauge Dimapur to Zubza had been talking for the last 15 years but nothing happened. Indian East policy propaganda is lofty but no sign to implement. Can Naga people trust India?
