Dimapur, October 14 (MexN): The Nagaland Under-19 team has defeated Puducherry by 113 runs in the ongoing Vinoo Mankad U-19 Trophy league match at Bhubaneswar, Orissa.
Nagaland is in the Group-D of the premier BCCI One Day tournament for the Under-19 boys.
With this win, so far Nagaland has won 3 matches, drawn 1 and lost only to Bihar.
Winning the toss and electing, Nagaland were all out for 154 all out in 41 over.
However, a tight bowling from the team ensured that Puducherry were all out for 41 in 20 over.
Yash Tandon took a record 8 wickets in 10 over for Nagaland. Nagaland will play Manipur on October 16.
Women team losses
Meanwhile, the Nagaland women’s team lose the first match of the BCCI Women Under-19 T20 tourney against Jharkhand by 8 wickets.
The tourney is currently underway at Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh.
Winning to toss and electing to bat, Nagaland could manage only 77 runs for 4 in 20 over. In response, the Jharkhand reach the target 14.3 over losing only two wickets.
