Kohima, December 8 (MExN): The Wínfest at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma (KSCJ) officially kicked off Monday morning by Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhütso, Member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
Welcoming the gathering, KSCJ Principal Dr Temjenwapang expressed gratitude to Dr Rhütso for sponsoring the futsal event, noting that such support had enabled the successful organisation of several activities under Wínfest.

In his address, Dr Rhütso, an alumnus of the college, emphasised the importance of education, self-sufficiency, and contributing meaningfully to society.

Drawing from his personal experiences, including working as a newspaper vendor and operating a mini bus, the MLA underscored the value of hard work and practical skills.
He further held that while education is costly, “ignorance is far more expensive,” and encouraged students to aspire to be global citizens who contribute to their communities and beyond.
Meanwhile, the oath-taking ceremony was led by the house captains, pledging to uphold the rules and ensure fair play.
The opening ceremony concluded with the lighting of the ceremonial torch.
