Tuensang, November 11 (MExN): A four-day wrestling coaching camp with the participation of both men and women wrestlers from the Chang community began at the Multipurpose Hall, Tuensang, on November 10.

The camp, which concludes on November 13, focuses on Freestyle Wrestling, Greco-Roman Wrestling, and Traditional Naga Wrestling, informed a press release from the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA). The coach for the camp is Kikhwesül Thokhwe, NWA’s Co-opted Technical Secretary.

The NWA is collaborating with the Chang Wrestling Association (CWA), one of the five newly formed wrestling units that have been given provisional affiliation by the State association.

At the inaugural programme, NWA Property Secretary Rangsilang Ikierembe encouraged the wrestlers to take up wrestling as a profession while highlighting its scope and potential at the state, national, and international levels. He also emphasised the progress of wrestling in the state and urged the participants to prepare for upcoming wrestling events and championships at various levels.

The CWA, headed by Er Chingmak as President, functions under the aegis of the Chang Sports Association (CSA), the apex sports body.
