Dimapur, June 24 (MExN): The Western Sümi Hoho (WSH), along with its frontal organisations and area chairmen, on June 24 resolved to promote strong inter-community relations and mutual respect among all tribes to foster unity, peace, understanding and peaceful coexistence.
In a resolution adopted during its meeting held at Chekiye village, the WSH encouraged all citizens to maintain cordial relations with members of different communities and work towards strengthening social harmony.
The organisation also issued an advisory on the use of social media, cautioning against its misuse for criticising others, spreading hatred, provoking communities or disturbing social harmony.
It cautiuoned that any individual found misusing social media in a manner detrimental to communal peace would face strict disciplinary action.
The WSH further resolved to extend its firm support towards an early and peaceful resolution of the Indo-Naga political issue.
To address matters relating to oil and natural resources in the Western Sumi area, the Hoho constituted a committee named the "Western Sumi Area Oil and Natural Resources Committee", which will function under the aegis of the Western Sumi Hoho.
The organisation also resolved to constitute a separate committee to look into issues concerning border-related matters. The committee will likewise function under the Western Sumi Hoho.
The resolutions were announced by the Media Cell of the Western Sumi Hoho.
