WSH urges public support for timely foothill road completion

Dimapur, April 7 (MExN): The Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) executive along with SDO, (R&B) Dimapur Division, EAC Aghunaqa, contractor N Chisho Swu & Sons, inspected the ongoing works at Foothill Road, stretching from Niuland Town via Hovukhu Village under Niuland District and to Ralan Area Wokha District on April 7. 

Media Cell WSH in a press release stated that the hoho has appealed to all the sections of people to not to hinder or disturb the workers, contractor(s) in the ongoing construction of Foothill Road. It also appealed to the contractor(s) to not to compromise in providing the quality workmanship of this historic road and complete the project at the given stipulated time. 

During the course of inspection, the WSH was “utterly satisfied to witness the good quality workmanship at the construction site and also to witness the construction being carried out as per the Government's specification in the DPR.”

The Foothill road has been a long cherished dream of the Western Sumi’s in particular and the Nagas in general and therefore, once completed, the road will serve as a lifeline to the people of Nagaland in numerous ways and it will automatically boost the socio-economic activities of our people to the highest extent, it stated. 

The WSH also expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Minister (R&B) Katio Aye, under whose leadership the dream of having the historic Nagaland Foothills Road is being made into a reality.
