Peren, June 7 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) has expressed shock over an alleged attack on commuters from the Zeliangrong community travelling from Dimapur to Jalukie in the early hours of June 5, 2026.
According to the union, the victims reported that they were allegedly followed by an unidentified maroon Alto car and an individual dressed in combat fatigues from the vicinity of the DIET Training Centre, Merryland, under Chümoukedima district. The union claimed that despite repeatedly allowing the vehicle to overtake, it continued to pursue them aggressively.
ZSUN further stated that the situation escalated near Pimla between 1:50 a.m. and 2:00 a.m., when a gunshot was allegedly fired at the commuters' vehicle. The union claimed that the bullet pierced the vehicle, causing visible damage and posing a serious threat to the occupants' lives.
Condemning the incident in the strongest terms, ZSUN urged the concerned law enforcement agencies to take immediate cognizance of the matter and expedite the identification and apprehension of those responsible in an impartial manner.
