Kohima, June 18 (MExN): The department of school education has started conducting the suitability test from 27-9-2010 with aimed to regularize adhoc teachers who have completed 3 yrs of continuous service as on 14-5-2007 so as to clear up the backlog cases of adhoc appointment as it is found to be the root cause of almost all troubles in the department today.
This was stated in a release issued by All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA). The Association said the process of regularization through suitability test normally takes time as certain formalities involving different departments are to be observed. The process is initially to be routed from the DSE and forwarded to the Govt. of Nagaland Department of School Education from where it will be put up to the department of P & AR and finance. After obtaining clearance of P & AR and concurrence of Finance, the file will be forwarded to screening committee to be headed by Chief Secretary and then it will be indorsed to the cabinet cell for approval of state cabinets (As for example the case of those who appeared the suitability test last year is now with screening committee). Finally, after cabinet approval, the file will come back to DSE for necessary issue of regularization order.
The Association observes that contribution of adhoc teachers towards building students’ career is crucial as many government schools are being run by the adhoc teachers. Though meager salary as compare to their counterpart regular colleagues, many adhoc teachers are dedicated and carrying out their duties efficiently.
“Since the journey of service regularization is long and at same time the service render to the department by the adhoc teachers is also undeniable,” the Association said fervently appeal the competent authority to pursue the matter (regularization of the concerned teachers) vigorously by playing proactive role so that deserving/genuine adhoc teachers may be regularized without further delay and the case of next batch/group of adhoc teachers who are yet to face the suitability test may also be taken-up in the right time.
This was stated in a release issued by ANSTA president Ponchulo Wanth and general secretary L. Asang.
