
Kohima, April 27 (MExN): Selection of candidates for recruitment into 164 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) (Home and Hearth) Naga commenced on April 27 at Army Cantonment, Zakhama Military Station.
The recruitment will be held for three days for the posts of Soldier General Duties, clerk and tradesmen. The rally drew un-precendented response and aspiring candidates, came from all over the state, to appear for recruitment. The candidates and other civilians started lining up at the gates of Zakhama Military Station, as early as 6:00 AM for the recruitment.
Representatives from Rajya Sainik Board, Ex-servicemen of the area/region and a few among civil fraternity were present at the venue of the conduct of the rally, to witness that the process was conducted in a fair and transparent manner.
Approximately 1300 candidates had been put through running test till the afternoon on the first day of the rally, out of which 163 candidates have cleared running test.
