Community mobilization prog for school management committees

Tseminyu, March 25 (MExN): The block level community mobilization programme for School Management and Development Committees (SMDCs) and School Management Committees (SMCs) organised by Samagra Shiksha & Nagaland Education Project-The Lighthouse (NECTAR), Department of School Education, Nagaland were held recently in different locations. 

In Tseminyu, it was held in collaboration with SDEO i/c DEO and Educational Block Resource Centre (EBRC) Tseminyu on March 24 at Tseminyu Town Hall. 

During the session, Ruyusoyi Khusoh, Deputy Director DoSE dwelled on the provisions of facilities to the schools namely RTE entitlements-free uniforms and textbook; PM Poshan (MDM); Pupil Teacher Ratio (PTR) and enrolment drive.

Kapu Chishi, State Coordinator Samagra Shiksha focused on the importance of Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) of students introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 as part of One Nation, One Student ID; Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) under  NIPUN Bharat Mission which ensures that every child achieves essential reading, writing and arithmetic skills by the end of Grade 3 by 2026-2027; Vidhya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) portal that aim to revolutionized school education through data-driven decision-making and technology integration for efficient monitoring attendance of teachers and students and assessment of students etc; Kala Utsav for promotion of arts in education nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students; provision of library in schools and reading corner; enrolment drive by SMDCs & SMCs; Inclusive Education; Career Counselling for Secondary students; Vocational Education; Out of School Children (OoSC); exemplar PM Shri schools with specialized facilities etc.

Yanbenthung Project Assistant NECTAR sensitised the gathering on Performance Incentive Grants (PIG) to the SMDCs & SMCs for community engagement and ownership; construction of Lighthouse School Complex (LSC) at GHSS Tseminyu Town as model institution under NECTAR project to serve as hub of excellence to transform school education; Smart Attendance Management and Informative Leaves (SMILE App) using facial recognition, time-stamping and geo-fencing to ensure precise and authentic tracking of daily attendance for teachers and staff and streamlining administrative processes etc; Vizo P3 NECTAR emphasised on the importance of community participation and contribution; roles and responsibilities of SMDCs and SMCs; best practices of schools etc.

An interactive session was conducted with numerous participants raising issues of concerns, suggestions and queries to the Team of DoSE, Samagra Shiksha and NECTAR.

Rushulo Khing, Coordinator EBRC Tseminyu pronounced the word of gratitude. Altogether 45 schools i.e. 1 GHSS, 6 GHS, 6 GMS and 32 GPS comprising of 3 participants each viz. Chairman SMDCs/SMCs, Secretary SMDCs/SMCs and one Parent Representative attended the sensitization program.

Tuensang: In Tuensang, the Block Level Community Mobilization Programme for SMC/SMDC under EBRC Hakushang held at CKS Hall, Tuensang on March 25.

Deputy Director, DoSE, Avino Tase in her Keynote address expressed her gratitude to the School Management of GHSS Hakushang, GHSS Thangjam and GHSS Tuensang for community initiative in Building infrastructure and Teaching Staff. She added that community has a greater role to play in creating a better education for the students’ community. 

The Government is providing nutrition supplement in form of mid day meal, free school books and uniform, deworming and iron and calcium to the Government school students. She further added that under School Education, the government school students are provided with meritorious awards and scholarship to the excellent students in the state.

The programme was attended by more than 150 SMC, SMDC, parents and teachers incharge.

Ahthibung: The EBRC Ahthibung organised the programme at Town Hall, Ahthibung and it was attended by 98 trainees from 36 schools in the block.  The keynote address was delivered by T Sulanthung, SDO (C) Ahthibung. The resource persons included Kelikha Kenye, Dy Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha, SMA, DoSE Kohima and personnel from NECTAR including Neiketulie, Limathung and Qheboka.
