DIMAPUR | MAY 11 : The Chumukedima Town Council (CTC) organized a simple function at CTC conference hall on Wednesday in commemoration of completion of one year in office. CTC chief advisor T Shuya in his speech highlighted some of the achievements and development works undertaken by the advisory committee in the past one year.
Among the notable activities included construction of water reservoir and water pump shed, construction of 10 garbage bins, improved /widened approach roads in all 11 wards with sand gravel, installation of parking and no parking sign boards, installation of welcome boards for beautification of town, repairing of town drains and installation of hume pipes, installation of sodium lights and tube lights in the streets and town area and organizing inter-ward tournament.
Among the ongoing works are constructions of two public toilets and two latrines, the CTC chief advisor said. Shuya said the development works have been made possible because of the co-operation of the public, GBS, various tribal organizations, administration and well wishers.
The CTC chief gratitude to chief minister Neiphiu Rio and Urban Development minister, Dr. Shurhozelie Leizetsu, for their support and concern for Chumukedima town and its citizens. The CTC chief especially thanked the chief minister for sanctioning of a fire service station at Chumukedima, to be inaugurated on Thursday, and sanctioning fund for CTC dumping ground.
Shuya further appealed the Chumukedima public to imbibe civic sense and discipline so as to make the town a beautiful place to live in. Head GB of Chumukedima, Kelenguzo Kuotsu in his speech acknowledged the services of past CTC members and the present CTC advisory committee in their endeavor to make Chumukedima a model town.

On the occasion, the CTC also felicitated Hemant Singhajit of St. Gabriel School, Chumukedima, for securing Top 29th position in the recently declared HSLC Examination.
