Kohima, March 5 (MExN): In view of the Nagaland Wrestling Association Championship 2026 scheduled on March 7 at Khuochiezie (Kohima Local Ground), the Deputy Commissioner of Kohima has issued a order outlining traffic restrictions, parking zones, and advisories for the day.
The order issued by Kohima DC B Henok Buchem stated that vehicles found parked indiscriminately will be treated as traffic rule violations and towed at the owner’s expense.
Authorities will not be held liable for any damages caused during towing, it added.
Drivers have been advised to display their contact numbers on the vehicle windshield, while attendees from Kohima town have been requested to avoid using personal vehicles.
The general public has also been advised to avoid non-essential travel within the town area.
Traffic Restrictions
Y-Junction (Phoolbari) to South Gate: This route shall remain One-Way Traffic. The Local Ground Bypass shall be closed for public thoroughfare; only vehicles with Car Passes issued by the organizers shall be allowed.
DC Office Junction to South Gate: This route shall be converted to One-Way Traffic.
Vehicles entering from D-Block or Y-Junction must exit via the DC Office/ Assam Rifles Gate. One-side parking shall be permitted as per the availability of parking space.
Parking Zones
Guests and attendees arriving from neighbouring districts or other parts of Kohima may park vehicles in the following areas to reduce town traffic:
WEST: Available spaces on NH-29, Ladies Mile Road, & Kohima Science College Road.
NORTH: Available spaces from High School Jn. up to Keziekie.
SOUTH (incl. other Districts via NH-2): Available spaces on NH-2 (Box Cutting Jn. - Classic Island Jn.), Kohima Law College area, and PR Hill MLCP.
EAST: Available spaces in Kiyake, BSF Camp, Seikhazou, Kitsubozou, and DBHS area.
Main Town area: Available spaces from TCP Gate to Razhu Point (via NST) & NST MLCP.
City Centre/MLCP: Vehicles to enter via DC Office Jn. and exit via Phoolbari only.
