Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): Commenting on the issue of the NPCCI and the Congress Legislators demand for the removable of Nyeiwang Konyak, minister for School Education & SCERT Nagaland, the Zeliang People Organization (ZPO) Peren states that the educational scenario in Nagaland after Nyeiwang Konyak took over as the Minister, School Education & SCERT Nagaland needs to be viewed in proper perspective.
A press note issued by Azu Newmai, president, Zeliang People Organization, Sibeule Hegui, president, Zeliang Mipui Organization and Lungcule Ndang, secretary, Zeliang Mipui Organization mentioned that Nagaland under the dynamic leadership of Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister, Nagaland and Nyeiwang Konyak, Minister, Education & SCERT, the Education Sector took a big leap to provide the much needed school infrastructure and quality education in the state.
The note also mentioned that ‘Nyeiwang Konyak is the only Education Minister in Nagaland since statehood during whose tenure in office the Education Department could address the difficulties faced by the Government Schools in the State vis-à-vis construction of school infrastructures, establishment of new primary schools and upgradation of schools as per the need of the community, training of school teachers etc. to provide quality education in the State. Within a short span of time all the Government School buildings in the entire State was transformed from the cowshed like looking buildings to modern school buildings with good amenities.’
It further stated that during the past few years the people of Nagaland witnessed phenomenal educational developmental growth in the State. And also that as per the need of the community, new Primary Schools were established, existing Primary Schools upgraded to Middle Schools, Middle Schools upgraded to High Schools and High Schools upgraded to Higher Secondary Schools to provide excess to quality education for the children of the State. The note stated that it is pertinent to mention that the spectacular achievement is solely due to the just and impartial stand taken by the Chief Minister, Nagaland and the Minister, Education & SCERT, Nagaland to provide quality education to the school children of the State.
In the context of providing impartial development to the people, ZPO stated that it is felt imperative to highlight to the general public that all the government schools in all the villages under Tening Constituency in Peren District were transformed from cowshed like school buildings to modern school buildings and new primary schools opened in addition to upgradation of schools as per the need of the community, though Tening Constituency is presently represented by the MLA from the Congress Party and therefore an opposition Constituency.
“In view of the above-mentioned facts the NPCCI and the Congress Legislators demand for Nyeiwang Konyak removal from Office is therefore considered to be unjust and political gimmick to mislead the general public from the truth,” stated ZPO in the note and requested the NPCCI leaders and the Congress Legislators to conduct proper tour of their respective Constituencies and see for themselves how the DAN Government under the just, impartial and dynamic leadership of Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister, Nagaland and Nyeiwang Konyak, Minister, Education & SCERT, Nagaland have transformed their Constituencies in the Education Sector.
“To err is human, and therefore instead of being ungrateful for the good things done it is strongly felt that the NPCCI leaders and the Congress Legislators should learn to appreciate the giant steps taken by Nyeiwang Konyak to impartially develop their constituencies in the Educational Sector and have the decency to thank him,” ZPO stated.
