“If you want to have good governance, if you want to have all the facilities, if you want to have a developed country, choose your leaders who have a vision, not who have money,” MLA Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhutso (Ato) urged students today.

Speaking as the special guest at the Kohima District-Level Round of the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament held Alder College, Kohima, he also called upon every individual to perform their duties to achieve the developmental vision.

“If you fight only for your rights, we will never achieve Viksit Kohima, Viksit Nagaland, Viksit Bharat. Rights alone cannot get us anywhere, but duties will definitely take us forward,” he said.

Dr Rhutso also emphasised that the development of a developed nation should start from every state, adding:  “And within the state, it has to start from every district.”

Dwelling on the debate theme, “One Nation, One Election,” he said that the majority supported the policy and the the main idea was to spend less on elections and save time.

“If you want to have good governance, if you want to have all the facilities, if you want to have a developed country, choose your leaders who have a vision, not who has money,” he told the youth.

The event was organised by MY Bharat Kohima as part of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2027 under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in collaboration with Alder College, with Nagaland College Media (NCM) as the student outreach partner.
