The Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Thangjam in Tuensang has been recognized among the top-performing PM SHRI schools in Nagaland and was officially dedicated to the nation on Tuesday during the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
In line with the Ministry of Education’s directive dated July 26, schools selected as the best from each district participated in a nation-wide simultaneous launch, graced virtually by the Union Minister of Education. The event was live streamed across all designated schools to ensure community-wide participation.
At GHSS Thangjam, the ceremony was attended by members of the School Management and Development Committee (SMDC), officials from the District Education Office, BJP Tuensang BJP party workers, teachers and students.
The school principal, Imkongsenla Sangtam, addressed the gathering, acknowledging the collective effort of staff and students that contributed to the school's recognition.

Ahead of the event, the Nagaland Education Mission Society, Samagra Shiksha, issued instructions to install plaques or flex banners as per standard templates in each selected school and to facilitate live stream screenings. Community attendance, local media coverage, and technical setups such as Webex connectivity were coordinated at the site level by designated nodal officers.
In a letter addressed to GHSS Thangjam, Member of Parliament Supongmeren Jamir expressed appreciation for the school’s inclusion in the centrally sponsored PM SHRI scheme.
