Dimapur, June 9 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN (Neokpao-Alezo) has refuted recent claims by the GPRN/NSCN (Kitovi) regarding the alleged defection of several members from its ranks, calling the assertions “complete fabrication and utterly baseless.”
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), H. Nasu Chang, Regional Administrative Officer (RAO) of the Chang Region, dismissed the claims as a “deceptive tactic” aimed at projecting false strength and influence among the Naga public, particularly within the Chang community.
“The individuals reportedly ‘welcomed’ into their ranks are entirely unknown to us,” the statement said, adding that with the exception of one former member, none of the names cited appear in the official records of the GPRN (Unification). The organization described the alleged affiliations as “purely fictitious.”
The sole exception, according to the release, is former Major Nukshi, whose service was terminated due to “serious breaches of established regulations and protocols under NARRA.” The group clarified that his dismissal took place prior to the alleged defection, rendering the claim of his inclusion into the Kitovi faction “both misleading and absurd.”
The GPRN/NSCN (Unification) condemned what it called “self-aggrandizement through fabricated narratives and distorted facts” and accused the GPRN/NSCN (Kitovi) of lacking credibility and integrity. “Such actions are not only regrettable but also highlight a deep lack of credibility and integrity,” the statement noted.
Reaffirming its commitment to “truth, justice, and the genuine interests of the Naga people,” the GPRN/NSCN (Neokpao-Alezo) said that “the future of the Naga people must be built on honesty, mutual respect, and factual representation—not on deception and falsehoods.”
