Dimapur, August 27 (MExN): Members of the Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) and nodal officers of ICFAI University Nagaland attended an orientation programme on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) organised by the Office of the District Commissioner, Chümoukedima, on August 27.

The programme highlighted the role of educational institutions in promoting electoral literacy, informed participation and awareness of electoral processes, including the SIR of electoral rolls.

Colleges were encouraged to use their ELCs and Campus Ambassadors to disseminate authentic information among students, clarify misconceptions, encourage eligible students to verify their electoral details and spread awareness about the importance of maintaining accurate electoral rolls.

The session also emphasised the role of students as electoral ambassadors within their campuses and communities by sharing verified information and encouraging responsible participation in the democratic process.

The programme provided guidance on strengthening ELC activities and creating greater awareness among youth about electoral rights and responsibilities.
