Kohima (MExN): Visitors today thronged the much awaited Indian Food Fest here at Dream Café, Ser’s Bazaar to rediscover the tastes of Indian cuisine in all its masala glory
“The prime idea of this fest is to celebrate the richness and flavour of Indian cuisine“ Dream Café’s proprietor Theja Meru told The Morung Express. While this fest is the first of its kind by the Dream Café, Meru plans to organise a Naga food fest somewhere during the coming year to popularize Naga cuisine.
The food fest featured Chef Ajit Das. It would continue till October 15.
Some of the menu available includes, Paneer, Chicken Masala, Chicken Tikka Masala, Alu Dum etc. A sum of Rupees 100 was charged per head for the buffet while concessions were granted to children less than 13 years. The price starts at Rs. 50 while the schedule for the festival, has been set at 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Impressed by the new experiment in the state capital, Conservator of Forest Dharmender Prasad said the price was ‘quite reasonable.”
The whole set up of the Dream Café is “nice and refreshing,” he told this paper. “Its décor is beautifully done and anyone can feel at ease here “another visitor said. Dream Café is not only a place for eating out but also provides a safe and healthy ground for people to spend their time and refresh their minds, he added.
It may be mentioned that Dream Café has of late become a centre for healthy activities with its youth-oriented undertakings. It qualifies as a ‘centre of excellence’. It has particular objectives coupled with attractive offers to reach out to touch young hearts, families and tourists from overseas.
This café, initiated by Theja Meru, Bambi Kevichusa and Reverend Jeane Lee (Singapore) in 2003, was incepted to influence young people to dream and fulfil the purpose of God in their lives.
