JPYO asks contractor to adhere to DPR

Dimapur, March 1 (MExN): The Jalukie Pumling Youth Organization (JPYO) has informed that it would be monitoring all ongoing and future development and contract works within its jurisdiction to ensure that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) is followed.

In a press release, the President, JPYO, stated that to ensure quality infrastructure and developmental projects, the organisation would be inspecting all project sites to maintain accountability and uphold transparency. It cautioned that “any contractor or stakeholder found compromising on quality through poor workmanship or the use of inferior materials, contrary to the specifications outlined in the DPR would be held accountable and necessary actions shall be initiated as per the relevant laws and regulations.”

Meanwhile, in accordance with the government’s directive regarding the rampant burning of forests and jungles, particularly during the dry season, the JPYO urged all youths and concerned citizens to remain vigilant and report any such activities to the relevant authorities without delay. It stated that it would “actively cooperate with the concerned departments to monitor and prevent any suspicious activities of indiscriminate burning.”

Observing that uncontrolled forest fires endanger biodiversity and threaten human settlements, agricultural lands, and essential infrastructure, the organisation called for collective efforts and cooperation in safeguarding the environment and preventing avoidable disasters.

The Jalukie Pumling Youth Organization further urged the concerned department to take strict action against individuals found responsible for violating the directive.
